Maust and Byrd Join the AAGP Board of Directors

Donovan Maust, MD, of the University of Pennsylvania, was recently elected by his fellow members-in-training as the MIT representative to the AAGP Board of Directors, and will serve in this position through September 2013. In this role, Maust serves as a liaison between the Board and AAGP’s members-in-training, sharing concerns and perspectives with the Board and gathering feedback from and relaying news to MITs.

Maust was first involved in AAGP as a PGY-3 resident, when he was selected as a Geriatric Mental Health Foundation Honors Scholar. During his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Maust served as the inpatient chief resident in his program. He completed a clinical fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently doing a postdoctoral research fellowship with some clinical time on the inpatient geriatric psychiatry service.

Filling a vacant position, Eve Byrd, MSN, MPH, APRN-BC, of the Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression at Emory University, recently joined the Board of Directors. Byrd is the executive director of the Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression, serves as associate vice-chair for Community Services Development, Emory University at Grady Health System, and is an adjunct faculty member at Emory's School of Nursing. She has served on several AAGP groups including the Annual Meeting Program Committee, AAGP Education/CME Committee, and the APRN Caucus.
