AAGP's Policy and Advocacy goals are comprehensive and encompass access to care, quality of care, research, and education. AAGP is committed to ensuring quality mental health services for all, especially older adults.

Geriatric Psychiatry Advocacy

AAGP will host an annual Advocacy Training Webinar to prepare affiliates to meet with legislative offices, write op eds, and provide critical support for the policies that are impacting treatments and care for geriatric mental health. Advocates will learn to educate Congress on why Americans need increased investments in community mental health services and advance legislative changes that make it easier to support geriatric mental health.
