Welcome to the AAGP Home for Students, Trainees, and Early Career Psychiatrists
Through the AAGP Scholars Fund, scholarships are available for medical students and psychiatry residents to attend the AAGP Annual Meeting.
We may be medical students, residents, fellows, early in our career, and/or non-MD track trainees, but our common interest, passion, and commitment bond us together.
Members-in-Training and Student Members are encouraged to get involved in AAGP’s committees. Your input as a trainee or early career psychiatrist will be valued and welcomed.

AAGP Welcomes Students & Trainees! Whether you are a medical student, graduate student, or psychiatry resident or fellow, AAGP has a place for you.
Careers in Geriatric Psychiatry
Geriatric psychiatry is on the cutting edge of the revolution in the biomedical sciences. It offers rich opportunities for research in geriatric mood disorders, dementia, delirium, anxiety disorders, late-life psychotic disorders, and health services. Approaches range from studying the implementation of psychosocial therapies to translational biomedical research studying genetic and biochemical factors associated with geriatric mood disorders.
