The Department of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center (MMC) and the MaineHealth Medical Group seeks a board-certified Psychiatrist to join our Geriatric / Neuropsychiatry Inpatient Program at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Successful candidates will be gifted clinician-educators committed to identifying and treating psychiatric and neuropsychiatric illness and substance use disorders in an inpatient medical setting, and excited to work with a team of like-minded colleagues.

The P6 Psychiatry Service at Maine Medical Center is an interdisciplinary team comprised of Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, Nurses and learners. We provide inpatient services to Maine Medical Center inpatients. We support cross coverage for hospital psychiatry needs in the MMC Emergency Department and our Consultation Liaison service. Our program is unique and highly valued by colleagues and region-wide stakeholders. In addition to clinical care, the P6 Psychiatry Program is a major teaching resource for Maine Medical Center. We provide training experiences for adult psychiatry residents, geriatric medicine fellows, Tufts University School of Medicine and other medical students, and trainees in other fields. We have a culture of continuous quality improvement and our performance in the areas of safety, quality, and satisfaction are consistently excellent.
