Ontario Shores is seeking full time or part-time Geriatric Psychiatrists to provide psychiatry in-patient and outpatient services.  Their Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry Program (GNP) comprises 3 inpatient units and a busy outpatient service.  The inpatient component includes 2 Geriatric Dementia Units (23 and 20 beds respectively) and a 25-bed geriatric psychiatry unit.  The outpatient component includes consultations, follow up, and group therapies for a wide range of mental health and neuropsychiatric conditions.  They have a Memory Clinic, general geriatric psychiatry outpatient clinic, ECT clinic and an outreach service that provides care to 58 long term care facilities as well as patient’s homes.


The successful candidate will possess an FRCPC with subspecialty qualification in Geriatric Psychiatry or equivalent, or an FRCPC in Psychiatry and possess experience in Geriatric Psychiatry or equivalent, and be eligible for Ontario licensure.  Alternatively, individuals who have completed their USMLE Steps 1-3, have attended an accredited Residency Program in the United States, have American Board Specialty Certification in Psychiatry, have clinical experience in the practice of geriatric psychiatry and have full license to practice in the USA are also encouraged to apply. [1] The preferred candidate will deliver evidence supported practice, innovation, and integrated service delivery excellence within an interprofessional team environment.
